Grandvalira Resorts celebrates a historic Christmas with record ski numbers

An exceptional Christmas for ski resorts

Grandvalira Resorts ski resorts, including Ordino Arcalís, Pal Arinsal and Grandvalira, have closed the Christmas period with remarkable success, achieving the highest number of visitors in the last five years. Since the start of the holidays on December 24, more than 330,000 ski days have been recorded, a figure that represents an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous season.

Ideal conditions for ski lovers

The abundant snowfalls in December, together with the efforts of the work teams, have contributed to the resorts offering excellent conditions, with an average of 145 km of skiable slopes in Grandvalira. Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís have maintained between 80% and 95% of the slopes operational, thus allowing skiers to enjoy a unique experience.

Comparison with previous seasons

These figures not only exceed those of last year, which was marked by unfavorable snow conditions, but they have also been above the records of previous seasons, setting a new record for Christmas since the 2019-2020 season.

Opinions dels experts

David Ledesma, marketing director of Grandvalira Resorts, highlighted that the enthusiasm of the skiers has been a key factor, in addition to the favorable weather conditions that have improved significantly compared to previous years.

Analysis of traffic by season

Pal Arinsal has experienced a growth of more than 30% compared to last Christmas, while Ordino Arcalís, despite having achieved records the previous season, has maintained a similar increase. Grandvalira has played a crucial role in achieving these positive figures, with December 28th recording 33,393 ski days, of which 24,455 corresponded to Grandvalira.

Expectations for the future

With the high influx during Christmas and good forecasts of reservations for the coming weeks, the outlook for January is optimistic. Ledesma stated that, despite the good forecasts, it is important to remain cautious, as the weather can influence the continuity of sales.

Increase in ski pass sales

Finally, the end of the promotional period for the sale of Andorra Pass and Nord Pass Season Passes on December 22 has caused a significant increase in the purchase of these passes, with a 16% increase among residents, thus reflecting the growth of the local population.
