Hazte Oír presents a new complaint against Begoña Gómez for influence peddling

Make Yourself Hear files a new complaint

This Friday, the organization Hazte Oír has filed a new complaint against Begoña Gómez, the wife of the president of the Spanish government, for an alleged crime of influence peddling. The complaint has been presented to the 41st District Court of Madrid, the same court that had already opened proceedings for the same crime following a similar complaint by Manos Limpias.

Previous complaints and justification of the complaint

According to Miguel Tomás, spokesman for the entity, despite having submitted a previous complaint to the prosecutor’s office, no statement has been received on the possible criminal nature of the reported events. This has led the organization to formalize the complaint before the court, attributing the silence of the public ministry to its governmental dependence.

Trust in the judicial system

Hazte Oír trusts the Spanish judicial system and hopes that, if a crime is discovered, action will be taken, regardless of the person involved. In addition, they emphasize that this complaint is broader than the one presented by Manos Limpias, since it affects more allegedly criminal acts and is accompanied by various documentation from public archives.

Career linked to the “rise” of Sánchez

The lawyer Javier Pérez-Roldán, representative of Hazte Oír, highlights Begoña Gómez’s marital relationship with the Spanish president and links her work development to her husband’s political rise. They claim that there is sufficient evidence to support that she has taken advantage of her status as the president’s wife to establish commercial and professional relationships with various companies and entities.
