A serious incident when going to school
A driver of a vehicle caused a serious incident this Thursday morning at the Gerbert school in Orlhac. The incident took place shortly before nine in the morning, when a mother and her two children were heading to school. According to Cugat Mèdia, the driver ran over the family at the pedestrian crossing located at number 27 on Carrer Josep Carner. After the crash, the driver fled without helping the family.
The victims and their state of health
The mother and one of the children were taken to the Mútua de Terrassa to receive medical attention. Fortunately, his injuries are not serious. The girl, for her part, did not suffer any injuries and was able to go to school as planned.
The danger of Carrer Josep Carner
This incident has highlighted the danger of Carrer Josep Carner, where the Gerbert d’Orlhac school is located. According to Esther Nieto, president of the school’s families, this stretch of street is particularly dangerous because cars tend to travel at high speed. The families have long been asking the City Council to take measures to guarantee the safety of the students and the residents of the area.
The need for a local police officer
The families of the Gerbert d’Orlhac school are demanding the presence of a local police officer to regulate traffic during school entry and exit times. As they explain, other schools already have this safety measure in place and consider it essential to avoid accidents like today’s collision. The families are urging the City Council to take immediate action and reinstate the local police patrol that had been withdrawn since September.
