The General Directorate of Traffic works to improve circulation
The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), known as DGT, is constantly working to improve traffic regulations in Spain. With the aim of guaranteeing road safety and facilitating traffic, the organization has introduced a new measure that will affect drivers from 2025.
The new rule for safer driving
The new regulation, which is a modification of the General Traffic Regulation, has as its main objective to improve road safety on the country’s roads. This is a measure that will affect all drivers and that seeks to facilitate the traffic of all types of vehicles.
Changes in the way of driving on motorways and motorways
One of the highlights of the new regulations is the modification of article 31, which regulates traffic on motorways and motorways. This measure focuses on how drivers should behave when they encounter emergency vehicles on the road.
Drivers who find themselves in this situation must leave enough space in the center of the road, moving their vehicle to the right or left, depending on their lane. This will allow emergency vehicles to travel safely.
A new measure for drivers
In addition to this modification, the new regulations also include other important changes. For example, it is established that emergency vehicles will be able to use the curbs if they need to, always with maximum safety and using light signals and reflectors to alert other drivers.
It is important to emphasize that the purpose of this new regulation is to improve road safety and ensure smoother traffic for all road users. It should be remembered that these measures will come into force from 2025.
