Improvements in School Transport in Lleida: A Necessary Response

The Repeated Problem of Overbooking

For some time, students from Lleida who use public transport to the Caparrella complex have been facing overbooking situations, especially with the 7.35am bus. This situation causes many students to be forced to wait for the next bus, with the consequences that this implies for their punctuality in class.

Recent Initiatives to Improve the Service

In response to this problem, Lleida City Council has introduced a new bus on the L2 line, which went into operation just yesterday. This measure seeks to meet the increase in demand from students who need to travel early in the morning to high schools in the area.

Requests for Improvement by Political Groups

Recently, the ERC group in La Paeria has urged the local government to make immediate adjustments to the lane that connects the INEFC Lleida sports facilities with other areas of the city. Councilor Xavi Estrada stressed the importance of this initiative to guarantee the safety of athletes and promote sustainable travel.

Collaboration and Service Analysis

The deputy mayor, Cristina Morón, highlighted the collaborative efforts with Autobusos de Lleida to respond to the needs of the educational community. The new L2 line bus, which will run at 8:05 a.m., has been a direct response to these demands.

Monitoring of the Service

Morón indicated that the effectiveness of this new addition will be analyzed in the coming days. If a real passenger demand is confirmed, the continuation of this reinforcement will be considered.

Commitment to Public Transport

The deputy mayor has reaffirmed the City Council’s commitment to being alert to the needs of urban transport, with special attention to the demands of students. This includes the implementation of improvements that have already been carried out previously, such as the bus to La Caparrella.
