Users affected by incidents on the Rodalies lines
Users of the RG1 and R1 lines of Rodalies have been affected by the incidents that occurred this Monday. Alba Hernández, a frequent passenger who goes from Montgat to Plaça Catalunya or Sants Estació to then go to the Zona Franca, has stated that these incidents have caused a delay of 20 or 30 minutes compared to the usual travel time. Other users have also expressed their concerns and asked for more coordination and information to facilitate the connection between the train and the metro.
Alternatives de transport
Users have criticized that transport alternatives, such as the metro or buses to the Catalan capital, do not cover the demand generated by incidents on the Rodalies lines (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de- texts-in-Catalan/). Despite the reinforcements in the Transport Metropolità de Barcelona (TMB) and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) service, many people have experienced an increase in travel time. Some students, such as Nil Domínguez from Pompeu Fabra University, have calculated that it will now take around 40 minutes to reach their destination, instead of the usual 25 minutes (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en -Catalan/).
Lack of coordination and signaling
Users have agreed to point out the lack of coordination and signaling to connect the Rodalies de Badalona station with the Badalona Pompeu Fabra metro station. This lack of proper connection has generated vehicle congestion in the area and has forced road traffic to stop longer than normal to make way for passengers coming from the train. In addition, the Badalona Pompeu Fabra metro station has experienced a large influx of people, concentrating mainly at the end of the trains, with no staff to distribute to users.
Reinforcements in the transport service
To deal with incidents on the Rodalies lines, TMB and FGC have reinforced the transport service. In the metro, two more trains than usual have been added in rush hour and the number of trains in the afternoon has been increased (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/ ). As for FGC, the capacity of the Vallès line has been increased, with trains every 2.5 minutes to Sant Cugat and every 5 minutes to Terrassa and Sabadell. In addition, the service between Barcelona and Martorell on the Llobregat-Anoia line has been strengthened.
