A new device for safety on the slopes
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) has started an exciting pilot project that seeks to improve the safety of workers on ski slopes through a revolutionary device. This apparatus, designed to monitor the location of actual operators, is a great step forward in the protection of staff working in the six ski centers managed by the company.
Strategic Collaboration with Caser
The initiative, which is developed in collaboration with Caser, is part of an agreement that aims to enhance security at mountain stations such as La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll. With this association, both organizations seek to create a safer environment for all workers operating in these facilities.
Snowfy: an ally in critical situations
The device, known as Snowfy, allows workers to activate an immediate alarm in the event of an emergency. This functionality is especially useful for professionals such as machinists and maintenance staff, who can alert the control center simply Tirant del Giny. Thus, a quick response is provided to any incident.
Training and preparation of staff
During the months of January and February, training sessions were held for a total of 162 employees from the FGC Turisme stations. This training says that staff is ready to use the new device efficiently, thus improving their safety and that of visitors.
A commitment to innovation
Carles Ruiz Novella, President of FGC, emphasized that this initiative reflects the company’s commitment to the safety of its employees. Ruiz said that the implementation of these innovative technologies positions FGC as a leader in modern ski resorts, preparing to face the challenges of the future.
Support for white sport
Gloria López Raposo, commercial director of Prospecting in Caser, said that this agreement is a significant advance in support of winter activities and technological innovation that can improve the experience of both workers and skiers. His vision is clear: to contribute to a safer and more efficient environment on the slopes.
