A life dedicated to l’art
Born in Alicante in 1950, Javier Lorenzo is an artist who has left an unmistakable mark on the world of Valencian art. With more than forty individual exhibitions behind him, his professional career extends for more than four decades, reflecting a deep commitment to the painting and creation of unique visual spaces.
Training and artistic evolution
His training took place at the Sant Carles School of Fine Arts in Valencia, where he began to forge his distinctive style. Lorenzo’s first individual exhibitions took place in Alicante, highlighting the galleries set seven and a half and gallery 11 in the 1970’s. In his early days, his work explored abstraction and collage, but over time, he made an unexpected turn towards figuration, a decision that reflects a deeper connection with the reality that surrounds him.
The challenge of each painting
For Lorenzo, each new work represents a challenge. It alternates various creations simultaneously, taking advantage of drying times to experiment with various techniques. His command of the oil is impressive, and his ability in drawing and watercolor complements his versatility as an artist. Its color palette is the result of a meticulous experimentation process, where each applied layer is a step towards the achievement of the desired effect.
Light and transparency
Lorenzo stands out for his ability to play with light and transparency, exploring everyday objects such as flowers, animals and small objects that surround him. Its fascination with the refraction of light in glass and water is palpable, as each jar and flower reflect not only its beauty but also the complex study that requires its representation.
Portraits that connect
One of the most intriguing aspects of Lorenzo’s work is the representation of human figures, often shown on his back. This approach to people around them, such as family and friends, creates an atmosphere of proximity and mystery. When the viewer shares the same visual field as the figures, Lorenzo gets us all to be part of the scenes he captures.
An intimate art i reflexiu
Through his exhibitions, such as the recent ‘The Window of Art’ at the Museum of Fine Arts Gravina in 2022, Lorenzo has created a space where viewers can connect with their works in a deep and personal way. His work invites reflection, establishing a dialogue between the artist and the viewer that transcends the simple observation.
CONCLUSIONS ABOUT JAVIER LORENZO
Javier Lorenzo is a brilliant example of how art can capture everyday reality with exceptional precision. His work not only reflects his technical ability, but also his ability to connect with the viewer to a deeper level, turning each painting into a window to a world of beauty and meaning.
