La Cerdanya Literary Festival: An Immersion in Cultural Diversity

An Inescapable Cultural Event

This year, the literary festival of La Cerdanya is preparing to host an edition full of activities at Safareig de Das, as long as the weather conditions allow it. The program includes a selection of outdoor theater and literary debates, designed to stimulate reflection and creativity.

Enriching conversations

One of the most anticipated conversations will be the one starring Júlia Bacardit and Bernat Puigtobella, publisher of Núvol, in which they will explore Bacardit’s new book, ‘El Raval a deshora’ (Edicions del Núvol). In addition, Eva Baltasar will join the event to present ‘Chance and fascination’, a work that shares themes of urban marginality.

El Raval: A Microcosm of Contrasts

After settling in the Raval, Júlia Bacardit discovered a neighborhood rich in cultural diversity, where the coexistence of different nationalities creates a vibrant mosaic. The Raval, often stigmatized by its reputation, reveals itself as a space of intense and complex life, with characters that defy expectations.

A Journey Through Marginalized Lives

With both a critical and empathetic look, Bacardit presents us with the figure of Roberto Lavilla, a man who represents the struggles and hopes of these neighbors. His narrative highlights the humanity that is often lost among the statistics of marginality and violence.

An Impressive Scenic Proposal

The festival will also offer the premiere of ‘Maria Rosa’, a minimalist adaptation of Guimerà’s work. With only three actors, this Amelie Produccions production promises to captivate the audience with its emotional intensity and exploration of universal themes such as love and sacrifice.

An Innovative Approach

The cast, with Anna Fortuny as Maria Rosa, brings an emotional depth that allows us to explore the life of a woman trapped in social expectations. Roser Martínez and Josep Maria Piñol complete the trio with performances that balance drama and comedy, bringing a new dimension to the classic work.

Practical details of the Festival

The Das Festival will start at 18:00 and will last approximately two hours. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will be moved to the Das Social Center. Registration is accessible through its website, where those interested can reserve their place.

A Reflection on Literature and Community

With activities that promote dialogue and understanding between cultures, the literary festival of La Cerdanya is consolidating itself as an indispensable meeting place. Literature, in this context, becomes a tool to explore diverse realities and build bridges between human experiences.
