La Molina is preparing to host 2025 MTB European Championships

An event of great magnitude

La Molina Station will become the scene of the European Bountain Bike Championships on August 1, 2 and 3, 2025. With the scheduled participation of about 500 cyclists from 20 countries, this continental tournament promises to be a prominent event that attracts the attention of competitors and fans across the continent.

Promote sports tourism in Cerdanya

The organization of this championship not only seeks to promote high -level competition, but also aspires to have a significant economic impact on the region. La Molina hopes that this event will promote sport among the local population and increase the flow of visitors, contributing to the development of sustainable sports tourism.

A bike park of reference

La Molina is not strange in mountain sports. With 12 descent circuits extending for 25 kilometers, the station seeks to reaffirm itself as a benchmark in the world of mountain biking. The circuits, which start at impressive heights such as the Cadí-Moixeró gondola, offer a unique experience through spectacular landscapes, such as the lake of La Molina and the pine forests.

Institutional support and collaborations

The project has received the support of the Department of Sports of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Higher Sports Council and Railways of the Generalitat. The European Cycling Union has validated the proposal presented by the Spanish Cycling Federation, highlighting the organizational capacity and infrastructure of La Molina, which is considered an ideal place to house these championships.

Looking to the future

With a view in 2025, La Molina seeks not only to be a ski destination during the winter, but also a dynamic center of activities in summer. With the mountain biking as the central axis of its summer offer, the station hopes to attract visitors throughout the year, strengthening its position as one of the main reference points in mountain sport in Europe.
