Healthy Alternatives

Studies reveal that iceberg lettuce causes the most gas and has the fewest nutrients, making it an option to avoid for those experiencing discomfort. Instead of opting for lettuce salads, it is recommended to choose easier-to-digest varieties, such as arugula and spinach, which are more nutritious and less likely to cause digestive problems.

Another option is to combine raw leaves with cooked foods, such as canned tuna, roasted peppers or fresh cheese, which provide flavor and nutrients, reducing abdominal bloating. In addition, it is crucial to pay attention to sauces and dressings, as their composition can affect digestion.
