An innovative plan for international solidarity
L’Hospitalet has introduced a new Master Plan for International Cooperation and Solidarity that will mark the period 2024-2027. Approved on March 12 by the Local Government Board, this document not only establishes lines of action, but reflects a firm commitment to global justice and human rights.
A collective and participatory process
The creation of this plan has been a collective effort, with the participation of more than fifteen NGOs and groups in the community. Through several dynamic sessions organized by the Solidarity Foundation of the University of Barcelona, the needs and priorities of cooperation in L’Hospitalet have been identified.
Opinions of Citizenia
In addition, an online questionnaire has allowed the population to express their opinions on the goals of cooperation, ensuring that the plan reflects a wide range of perspectives and sensitivities.
Strategic axes and fundamental values
With a world increasingly marked by global crises and political discourses that challenge democratic values, the Master Plan is articulated around principles such as sustainability, the defense of human rights and gender equality.
Key action lines
Plan strategies include development cooperation, development education, and humanitarian action, focusing on a model of active and committed citizenship.
Priority areas of collaboration
To ensure effective continuity, the plan prioritizes regions with a history of collaboration with Hospitalet, such as the Andean area, West Africa, the Sahel, the Mediterranean basins and Ukraine.
Futuristic Initiatives in Education and Awareness
The Plan also promotes citizen awareness programs, such as ‘Vignettes a school for solidarity’, in collaboration with the Diputació de Barcelona, to educate on global justice and solidarity.
