The lifting of water restrictions
With the recent rains that have significantly improved the situation of the reservoirs, the Government of the Generalitat has decided to remove the alert status in the area of the Ter-Llobregat system, which includes Hospitalet. This transition to a pre -alert phase implies the end of the restrictions on water use, thus allowing the population to resume activities related to water without limitations.
City Council actions for standardization
Mayor David Quirós issued a decree that eliminates previous limitations on water consumption, including use for irrigation of gardens, cleaning streets and vehicles, as well as for fountains and pools. This measure seeks to restore normality in the management of water resources in the city.
Reactivation of ornamental sources
Municipal technicians have set out to work for the progressive revision and reactivation of ornamental sources, a process that will be carried out with precaution to guarantee their proper functioning and safety of users.
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION DURANT THE DRUE
During the last two years of drought, Hospitalet has maintained water consumption by significantly inhabitant below the highest established. The maximum daily endowment was 250 liters, but the city has managed to limit its consumption to only 140 liters, demonstrating a commitment to the responsible use of water resources.
Preparations for Future Sequias
In order to deal with possible new drought situations, the Emergency Plan in L’Hospitalet has been updated and a municipal technical committee has been set up dedicated to the supervision of the measures to be implemented.
Coordination and actions of the Technical Committee
Since the beginning of the water crisis, the municipal technical committee has maintained a regular meeting of meetings, adding up to 42 meetings, to manage water consumption. Formations for the Guàrdia Urbana have been implemented and protocols have been improved to detect leaks in various municipal facilities.
Commitment to hydic sustainability
The City Council of L’Hospitalet is dedicated to promoting sustainable water management. It uses non -potable water for the cleaning of public space and the irrigation of green areas, thus contributing to the preservation of water resources.
Water reuse and strategic agreements
The city has developed a network of hydrants that take advantage of the water that is usually lost, with an average reuse of more than 200,000 m³ per year. In addition, the City Council has established agreements with various entities to guarantee efficient use of water in its operations.
With these actions, L’Hospitalet is positioned not only to deal with future water crises, but also for being an example in responsible management of water resources.
