Literary Celebration in Castellvell: the stories that unite

An event full of creativity

On March 7, the magic of literature invaded Cal Baranxó with the celebration of the verdict of the 12th Tales Contest of the Lluert. Organized by the Castellvell Timbal and Bestiary Association, with the support of the Local City Council’s Department of Culture, the event gathered a total of 23 original narratives.

A colorful party for all ages

The House of Culture became a vibrant space, full of excited families to discover the winners. The festive atmosphere was accentuated with cheerful decorations that represented the theme of this year: ‘Teixim bonds’. Attendees participated in an interactive game, looking for posters with the titles of the stories and extracts that represented them.

The Highlights of the Ceremony

The event, directed by Anna M. Martí Ollé, President of the Jury, included the delivery of participation certificates and small gifts such as pencils of the NGO Babies Uganda and Chocolates, who delighted the participants. Among the attendees, Mayor Josep Sabaté addressed a few words of thanks and recognition to all those involved.

The winners of the contest

After a waiting time, the jury president announced the names of the winners, who were received with enthusiastic applause. The prizes were distributed as follows:

Awards and Accesses

1st prize: ‘The Long Tail Latert’, by Thaïs Domingo Medico.
2nd prize: ‘The Lluert connects with the friendship’, by Carlota Oritz Laguna.
3rd prize: ‘The Litert knows other beasts of fire’, by Biel González Olesti.
ACCESSITS: ‘The Lluert wants to make a gift’, by Mel Vicens Mestre; ‘The Lluert and the Solidarity Store’, by Mario Fèlix Sancha; ‘The Lluert learns to weave’, by Martí Limón Astilleros; ‘The Lluert learns to read’, by Andreu Flix Giusti.

Fostering bonds and solidarity

The motto ‘Teixim Vinces’ not only reflects the theme of the competition, but also the essence of the Santa Anna School project for the 2024-2025 course. The school management emphasizes the importance of creating significant connections that promote children’s learning and emotional development.

A Gift with Purpose

Each participant received a tribal pencil, prepared by a volunteer from the Babies Uganda NGO, which represents a gesture of solidarity with the children in a vulnerable situation in Uganda. This choice was seen by the jury as a beautiful way of connecting the slogan of the contest with a noble cause.

Literary Awards and Recognition

The winning story will be published by Sant Jordi, with illustrations by Jordi Company Pàmies. In addition, the winners of the first, second and third prize will receive vouchers of 40 euros to buy books, while the prizes will get vouchers of 30 euros. All these awards will be presented during the public presentation of the book, which will take place at the Gaudí bookstore in Reus.

A final reflection

The event has not only been a platform for young writers, but also an opportunity to strengthen the community through creativity and solidarity. Literature is still a powerful instrument for weaving bonds that unite us all.
