Reconstructing the identity: the Lleida shield
Last Friday, the Good Governance Commission of the Paeria de Lleida submitted a significant proposal for the city: the officialization of its shield. After the municipal plenary session supported the start of the file last October, this decision is now sought to ratify.
The public exhibition period has passed without any allegation, which will allow the plenary to re -consider definitive approval. The proposal is based on a detailed report from the head of the Municipal Archive, which analyzes the historical background and the guidelines recommended by the Institut d’Estudis Catalans and the General Directorate of Local Administration in the field of heraldry.
Characteristics of the shield
The report determines that the coat of arms of Lleida must be of a cayroni type, with a gold background and four sticks of gules, and a bouquet of sinople lily with silver lily flowers. This design also includes a mural crown that symbolizes the city.
Innovations in waste management
In addition to this heraldic initiative, the Commission addressed a significant review of the tax regulations related to waste collection. This modification aims to ensure that tax bonuses are properly applied and can benefit citizens from 2025.
The aid, which can cover between 50% and 75% of the receipt, have expanded their income limits for access. Within the usual legal framework, bonus applications are managed for the following fiscal exercise, but exceptionally, this year and by 2026, applications will be allowed until June 30, with retroactive effects on January 1.
Collaboration for the low -emission area
Another highlight of the Commission was the signing of an agreement with the Metropolitan Transport Authority of Barcelona (ATM). This alliance will provide the City Council with access to the technology platform that manages the low emissions area, thus facilitating compliance with current regulations.
The ATM undertakes to provide the tools necessary for the implementation of the platform, as well as the possibility of supplying environmental sensors and cameras for a more effective control of emissions.
Economic Perspectives: Budget Settlement
Finally, the commission submitted the liquidation of the budget of 2024, which has concluded with a treasury remnant of 5.7 million euros. This amount will be subject to a credit modification to be incorporated into the budget of 2025, thus reflecting a prudent financial management and oriented to the future.
