A new approach to coexistence in the city
Incivism has become one of the great challenges in modern cities, and Lleida is no exception. The municipal government, under the leadership of Fèlix Larrosa, has begun several actions to address this problem. Among the measures taken is the campaign “There is already pro -ooou”, designed to foster citizen responsibility and improve urban image.
Reviews and updates for a better future
With the intention of adapting to the new needs, the City Council is reviewing the current municipal ordinances, dating to 2007. This review seeks to approve a new agreement for coexistence and civility, which will address aspects of incivility not contemplated so far, with the forecast to enter into force in June.
Forceful actions against incivility
The Guàrdia Urbana has intensified its presence to ensure compliance with the ordinances, with a significant increase in the complaints filed. In the first two months of the year, 142 complaints were recorded, which represents an increase of 125.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. Most of these violations are related to incivious behaviors, highlighting the neglect in waste management.
Initiatives to improve recycling and cleaning
The City Council has recognized the need to improve the recycling rates of the city, which are currently 38%, below the Catalan average. As part of a comprehensive plan, a new cleaning contract has been approved that provides for the incorporation of 66 vehicles and a working team of more than 200 people, with the aim of improving the cleaning of the streets and increasing citizen awareness.
New protocols for regulation
The modification of the ordinances not only seeks to update the existing regulations, but also to establish a clearer sanctions system that offers legal certainty for both the administration and the citizens. Thus, a typification of the infractions and their corresponding sanctions is foreseen and accessible.
The pact as a tool of social change
The Pact for Coexistence and Civism has been designed as a strategic project that seeks to involve citizens in the improvement of public space. The aim is to foster a collective commitment to take care of and respect the urban environment, as well as constructively addressing the conflicts that may arise.
Building a more responsible city
With this initiative, the City Council of Lleida expects not only to reduce the incivility, but also to transform the city into a space of shared well -being. The mayor has expressed his confidence that this pact, which is expected to be approved in June, will mark a before and after in coexistence in the city, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
