Lleida seeks young leaders to represent their diversity

A new initiative for the Lleida youth

The city of Lleida has started an exciting project to choose four young references who will play a key role in key events such as the Festa Major. This proposal, presented by Councilor Xavi Blanco, seeks to value the diversity and talent of local youth.

Who can be a young reference?

The program is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who live in Lleida or have a significant connection with the city. It aims to identify individuals with various concerns that can serve as a model to follow in fields such as research, culture, sport and social activism.

A paradigm shift in youth representation

According to Blanco, this initiative represents an evolution of the traditional figures of heirs and heirs, focusing on the importance of young people as vital assets for the community. “We want young people to be visible throughout the year,” said the councilor.

Role and training of young referents

The chosen ones will not only act as ambassadors of Lleida, but will also participate in events such as the opening speech of the Festa Major and other youth, cultural and solidarity activities. In addition, they will receive training in skills such as leadership and communication, allowing them to contribute effectively to their community.

An opportunity for the youthful voice

Blanco has encouraged all young people to submit their nominations, emphasizing that this is an ideal time to make their voice heard and to actively contribute to the development of Lleida. The program, coordinated by Lleidajove with the support of various departments, seeks to promote the participation and contributions of young people.

Criteria for selection

Applications may be submitted individually or with the support of organizations. The candidates will be valued in different fields, including academic, association, cultural, sports, environmental and entrepreneur.

Details of the registration process

The registration can be done through the Paeria Procedures Portal until April 25 at 1pm, accompanied by documentation as a curriculum and a letter of motivation.

Phases of the selection process

The process will include two phases: a document review by a committee that will evaluate the nominations, followed by personal interviews on April 29 and 30 to get to know the selected candidates better.

Results and recognition

The names of the four young references chosen will be announced on May 2, through the official communication channels of the Lleida City Council. This selection not only represents personal recognition, but also an opportunity for the youth community of Lleida to shine.
