Logroño: Decent care for our elderly

Financial aid for elderly care

The Logroño City Council is committed to the well-being of its elderly citizens, implementing an innovative financial aid program for those over 85 years of age who need professional assistance in their homes.

Requirements to access aid

To qualify for this aid, applicants must meet the following requirements: be 85 years old or older, be registered in Logroño and hire a professional caregiver for a full day of 40 hours per week or for days totaling a minimum of 20 hours per week.

It is important to highlight that people who receive services from the Rioja Dependency System, with the exception of Telecare, or who have outstanding debts with the Municipal Treasury will not be able to access this aid.

Concession process

The aid will be granted through a competitive process, where each application will be evaluated based on the hours contracted with the caregiver, the per capita income and the applicant’s living situation.

The draft regulatory bases for this program will be debated in the municipal plenary session in May, and once approved, the Local Government Board will call for the aid, which will be published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja.

A commitment to the well-being of the elderly

These aids are a clear example of the commitment of the Logroño City Council to the care and attention of its elderly citizens, guaranteeing their well-being and dignity at home.

The financial aid program for elderly care is an essential initiative that will allow our elderly to receive the assistance they need, improving their quality of life and ensuring their autonomy.
