Mollet del Vallès i Humilladero: a pact of cultural fraternity

A new chapter of friendship

The municipality of Mollet del Vallès is about to sign a friendship agreement with Humilladero, a town located in the region of Antequera. This initiative seeks to consolidate the bonds of friendship between the two populations, promoting an enriching exchange of knowledge, cultures and traditions.

Signature ceremony

The Mayor of Mollet, Mireia Dionisio Calé, will make official the signing of the pact next Friday, April 4, at 7 pm, in an event that will take place in the plenary hall of the City Council. The ceremony will be attended by a delegation of Humilladero, led by its mayor, María Auxiliadora Gámez Álvarez.

Background and motivation

The announcement of this agreement was made public on Sunday, March 9 during the event of the flag of the Andalusian day. The first mayor emphasized the importance of this initiative, which has been developed thanks to the efforts of the Andaluz Cultural Center. “This agreement will symbolize the ties of fraternity that unite the two populations, which have historically shared many residents,” he said.

In order to foster this friendship, the two localities have agreed to work together in various key areas:

Encourage the participation of shops in each municipality in fairs and events that are held in the other locality.

Humilladero: An Andalusian Joia

Humilladero is known for its rich agricultural tradition and an impressive natural environment. Located in the Sierra de Humilladero, the municipality preserves popular festivals such as those dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary and the Carnival, which has been recognized as a party of provincial tourist interest.

The Andalusian Community in Mollet

The Andalusian population is the largest community in Mollet del Vallès, with a total of 5,430 residents of Andalusia. Of these, 869 come from the province of Malaga, including 131 in Humilladero and 128 from neighboring Antequera.
