More than 4,800 students registered for the university entrance exams in the Balearic Islands

A large number of students enrolled

A total of 4,897 students from educational centers in the Balearic Islands have registered for the university entrance exams that will take place on June 11, 12 and 13, 2024. These exams are a requirement for students who they want to enter university and pursue higher studies.

Distribution by islands

The majority of enrolled students, specifically 79.4%, come from Mallorca, with a total of 3,886. In Menorca there are 426 students enrolled, while in Ibiza and Formentera there are 565 and 20 students enrolled, respectively.

Examination points and classrooms

The university entrance exams will be held simultaneously on the four islands of the Balearic Islands. There will be a total of nine exam points, with a total of 93 classrooms available. In Mallorca, there will be four exam points, in Ibiza one point, in Menorca two points and in Formentera one point. In addition, the tests will also be held on the UIB campus.

News in the exam subjects

This year, there are some changes in the exam subjects. The tests are structured in two blocks: the entrance one, which includes the common core subjects and those of each high school specialty, and an admission block, of a voluntary nature, with optional subjects related to the studies that each student wants to pursue . One of the novelties is that students will be able to choose between History of Spain and History of Philosophy in the access block, and choose the other subject for the admission block.

In addition, 10 new exam subjects have been added to the admission block, which are as follows:

– Musical Analysis II
– General Sciences
– Choir and Vocal Technique II
– Artistic Drawing II
– Technical Drawing Applied to Plastic Arts and Design II
– History of Music and Dance
– Cultural and Artistic Movements
– Graphic Expression Techniques
– Technology and Engineering II
– Dramatic Literature

In total, there are a total of 32 exam subjects for the university entrance exams.

Timetable of the tests

The university entrance exams will take place from 11 to 13 June 2024. The exams will start at 9 am and will last until 1 pm. In the afternoon, the exams will resume at 3.15pm and end at 7pm. The last exams will be Choir and Vocal Technique II, Technical Drawing Applied to Plastic Arts and Design II, and Business and Business Model Design.

Language of the test

Students will have the option to choose the language in which they want to take the exams. They will be able to choose between the co-official language of the Balearic Islands and Spanish. Each student must select the language in which they want to receive the statements of the exams and must communicate this to the organization. The exams can be answered in either of the two co-official languages.

Provisional results

The provisional results of the university entrance exams will be available on June 19, 2024 through the UIBdigital platform.
