Narcos record the crime
On February 9, in Barbate (Cádiz), drug traffickers attacked and killed two civil guards while they were recording the attack with a GoPro camera. The pilot of the drug boat, Karim, fled to Morocco and hid there.
The civil guards Miguel Ángel González and David Pérez died in the collision. Investigations revealed that the drug traffickers mocked them, harassed them and finally attacked them.
Karim’s Search
The Civil Guard is trying to arrest Karim, an experienced drug pilot and nephew of a man linked to drug trafficking in Ceuta and the Costa del Sol. Negotiations have been held with Morocco for his surrender, but so far they have been unsuccessful.
Collaboration of rival clans
Two rival drug trafficking clans have offered to collaborate in solving the case, although it is not believed to be a selfless collaboration.
Analysis of the drug boat
The drug boat used in the crime has been found and is being analyzed for evidence. It is believed that Karim used her to bring hashish to Huelva after the double crime.
Arrests and investigations
Eight people were arrested the day after the attack, six of whom remain in prison. However, investigations have ruled out their involvement in the murder of the Civil Guards.
