A Key Initiative for the Green Economy
Within the framework of its strategy to promote a more sustainable economy, the Government of Catalonia has launched a new series of subsidies aimed at technological initiatives that seek to combat the effects of climate change. The main purpose of this measure is to support companies that develop products, processes or services aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The call to access these grants will be available until October 7.
Financing of up to 90,000 Euros
This line of subsidies is aimed at small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in both the industrial and industrial services sectors that operate in Catalonia and have been operating for a minimum of two years. In addition, projects must have a minimum cost of 40,000 euros. The aid can cover up to 75% of the expenses linked to the project, covering the incorporation of personnel, the acquisition of new technological equipment and collaboration with external entities.
Program Details
The new line of technological innovation is part of the ProACCIÓ Green program, designed in collaboration with the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda through the Climate Fund of the Government of Catalonia. This program has a total budget of 30 million euros and has supported more than 570 research, development and innovation (I+D+i) projects by companies in the region. In recent years, the Climate Fund has contributed more than 15 million euros to these initiatives.
Complementing Precedent Initiatives
The intention of this new line is to continue the work started with the Green Coupons, aid of up to 8,000 euros aimed at those companies that require an environmental diagnosis prior to the implementation of new sustainable projects. This diagnosis allows us to evaluate the environmental footprint of a process, service or product and also define sustainability strategies. In addition, it seeks to establish an action plan to mitigate or adapt to the effects of climate change. After completing this diagnostic phase, companies will be able to move forward with the implementation of their new projects.
