The City Council approves an innovative project
La Bisbal del Penedès begins a new phase with the endorsement of its town council for the creation of a public car park in the Riba neighborhood. With the aim of improving the parking situation in this area, which has experienced significant population growth, the council has given the green light to a project that envisages the construction of a space with capacity for 58 vehicles.
Project details and budget
The project, drawn up by the architect Ignasi Forcada Martorell, has a budget of €130,661.98, VAT included. In an area of 1,632.60 m², two places adapted for people with reduced mobility are included. After going through a period of public exposure without objections, the final approval has been an important step towards its implementation.
Need for a parking lot in the area
The growing density of housing, together with the presence of several commercial establishments and a residence for the elderly, has generated an urgent demand for parking spaces. The situation is complicated by the increase in private vehicles and the number of cars per household, which has highlighted the insufficiency of parking in the neighborhood.
Commitment to sustainability and the environment
One of the strengths of this project is its focus on sustainability and integration with the local landscape. The council has expressed its intention to minimize the environmental impact of the car park, using materials found in the region, such as sand and local stone. The pavement of the car park will be made of salon, a natural material that allows permeability and temperature regulation, while the vehicle circulation areas will use a more traffic-resistant salon.
Additional design details
The sidewalk will be designed with cobblestones, to maintain the aesthetics of the neighborhood, while the separation with the neighboring agricultural plots will be made using dry stone gabions. In addition, each parking space will have physical delimiters to guarantee a correct location of the vehicles.
Innovations in energy efficiency
As for the lighting, six lanterns with lamps have been planned that will work with solar energy and will be equipped with presence detectors, a measure aimed at minimizing light pollution and promoting energy efficiency.
Future of the project
With the final approval of the project, the Bisbal del Penedès City Council is in the preparation phase for the works to be tendered. It is expected that the works will begin once the infrastructure improvements that are currently being carried out in the Riba neighborhood are completed, thus marking an important advance in the quality of life of its residents.
