A step forward for public safety
In a decision that marks an important moment for the security of the southern area of Mallorca, the Council of Mallorca has given the green light to the new fire station project located in Santanyí. This project, recently approved by the Executive Council, will involve an investment of 5.26 million euros and an expected execution of twelve months, with work starting in 2025.
Organization and services of the new park
The new fire station will be structured to house one corporal and five full-time firefighters, resulting in a faster response to any incident or emergency in the region. In addition, its fleet of vehicles will include a wide range, such as a heavy rural pumper and a light pumper for urban environments.
A functional and modern design
The space, which will occupy 1,500 square meters, will be divided into several operational areas. Its configuration stands out for a two-story structure that includes both administrative spaces and areas for staff rest, including a kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and a gym.
Innovation and safety in every detail
An innovative aspect of this park is the separation of the entrances for emergency vehicles, which will allow a quick exit in case of need, avoiding unnecessary delays. How is this project different? It will also include a specific area for the decontamination of vehicles and equipment, thus guaranteeing the safety and hygiene of the staff.
Alignment with the needs of the community
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has emphasized that this project is not only an advance for Santanyí, but a request that responds to the needs of the entire Midwest. These improvements are based on a commitment to the community to modernize the infrastructure of the emergency services, thus ensuring a higher standard of safety.
Future of fire station safety
The model designed for Santanyí will become the reference for future reforms of other parks such as those of Manacor and Inca, as part of an ambitious modernization plan that includes the regrouping of services in a new headquarters in Marratxí.
