An educational project with a vision for the future
The Alfonso X the Wise University has decided to expand its influence by creating a new campus, called UAX Mare Nostrum in Malaga. This institution will offer a small selection of degrees in three essential areas: Health and Sport, Business and Technology, as well as Art and Design. This initiative comes at a time when major technology companies, including Google and Vodafone, have chosen Málaga as a location for establishing innovation centers of outstanding global relevance.
First-class facilities for comprehensive training
The Health and Sports area is characterized by its advanced infrastructure, which includes a simulation hospital and several spaces for sports practice. This facility will be complemented by collaborations with health bodies, promoting a real immersion in the world of work for students. The Business and Technology section will combine traditional knowledge with diversified skills, thus ensuring an education oriented towards excellence and the dynamism of work skills.
Creativity at the service of local talent
On the other hand, the Art and Design area promises to stimulate the imagination through disciplines such as digital art, industrial design and the creation of three-dimensional content. This section seeks not only to train professionals, but also to link their talent with the rich cultural panorama that the city offers.
Commitment to regional development
The founding president of the institution, Jesús Núñez, has expressed his conviction that a quality training, aligned with labor requirements and focused on innovation, will be fundamental for the sustainable progress of the area and for the professional success of the students in an increasingly globalized context. Isabel Fernández, rector of the university, has emphasized that the main objective is to enhance the skills developed through an educational model focused on academic excellence, creative learning and the link with the business sector.
The role of Málaga as a pole of innovation
With the intention of positioning Málaga and Andalusia as centers of innovation, the new university also plans to contribute trained professionals to meet the growing demand for talent. Initiatives such as the establishment of IMEC, a leading center in microelectronics, and the National Digital Content Hub, as well as important sporting events such as the Davis Cup, highlight the evolution of this city and the professional needs that are emerging .
A campus designed for the future
The new UAX Mare Nostrum campus will be located in the area of Ànec and Minerva, an area of dynamic growth. With an investment in four buildings totaling more than 27,000 square meters, the designs will prioritize sustainability, thus contributing to responsible urban development. This initiative is an important step in strengthening the educational modeling of the university, highlighting the importance of collaboration with companies, practical learning, high-quality research and innovation.
