A budget with a significant increase
The plenary session of the Olèrdola City Council approved a new municipal budget for 2025 on Tuesday night, amounting to 6,153,000 euros. This figure represents a growth of 6.6% compared to the previous year, a decision that has been supported by the governing political parties, including ERC, PSC and Impulsem Olèrdola.
Promotion of the associative network with an increase in subsidies
One of the priorities of the new budget, according to Mayor Fina Mascaró, is support for local entities. Subsidies will increase by 15%, thus favoring community initiatives through a competitive bidding system. In addition, nominative subsidies will also increase by 10%, reinforcing the commitment to associations.
Improvements in public services and transparency
The budget includes a series of new items aimed at improving the management of public services. Among these, a plan to increase transparency through good governance contracts stands out. There will also be investments in the maintenance of public roads, including paving and license plate reading cameras, as well as in nursery schools and gardening.
Key investments for the future of the town
The investments scheduled for next year amount to nearly 426,000 euros. This amount will allow projects such as the acquisition of calisthenics parks, the renovation of Plaça Bosquina and the improvement of the Sant Pere Molanta clinic to be carried out. Likewise, the construction of a well in the same town is planned, with the intention of financing part of these actions through subsidies.
Criticisms and alternative proposals
The opposition group ApO, represented by Lucas Ramírez, has expressed its disagreement with the budget, considering that some items are ‘oversized’. Ramírez proposes a reduction of the budget to 5.6 million euros, arguing that the remaining cash could be used to reduce the tax burden on citizens.
A look into the future
With an eye on 2025, the Olèrdola City Council seeks not only to better manage resources, but also to foster an environment of collaboration between local entities. The implementation of this budget could mark a before and after in the way the community is organized and developed, always with the aim of improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
