A new format for an old festival
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the cultural world has undergone significant changes, and the Olot Seismograph Festival is no exception. This emblematic event has adopted a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate both in person and virtually. Thus, dance lovers can choose between the excitement of living the event in situ or enjoying it from the comfort of their home.
A festival with its own identity
With the direction of Tena Busquets, Seismograph has managed to consolidate itself as one of the most prominent dance festivals in Catalonia. Its proposal is characterized by a distinctive style that combines innovation with tradition, presenting works that challenge conventional theater conventions. The next edition, scheduled from April 24 to 27, promises to be a celebration of dance that transcends the words.
This year’s themes: Nature and Food
This year’s topics revolve around nature and sustainability. Under the slogans ‘The Forest’ and ‘The Food’, the festival will seek to explore the relationship between human beings and their environment. The Girona Circus Professionals Collective will present a unique work in the Bosquet de Can Serra, fusing circus and nature in a proposal designed specifically for the space.
Activities that challenge the imagination
In addition to dance performances, the festival will include various artistic actions that promote the active participation of the public. A great show created by Marcel·lí Antúnez, entitled Nature Centrum Est, will include an artistic manifestation that will question the way we consume and how we affect the planet. The end of the event will end with a large bonfire, accompanied by a popular dinner that celebrates local cuisine.
Various artistic proposals
The seismograph will not spare in variety, with audiovisual facilities such as City Horses, which presents an innovative dance project, and performances by companies such as the Conde de Torrefiel, who will address topics such as identity and relationship with the land. Each proposal seeks to stimulate the reflection and dialogue between the attendees.
A party for all
The festival will not only be limited to artistic performances; It will also include a seismoparty, where the audience will enjoy live music. With renowned DJ’s, the event promises to be a social and festive meeting point, as well as a space for the celebration of the community.
The Sismographer as a reflex of society
As we approach the new edition, it is clear that the Seismograph is not only a dance festival, but also a reflection of the social and environmental concerns of our time. Its ability to adapt and evolve shows that art can be a powerful vehicle for social and cultural transformation.
An unavoidable appointment
From April 24 to 27, Olot will become the epicenter of contemporary dance and reflection on our relationship with nature. Under the slogan ‘The Earth vibrates’, the Seismograph invites us to participate in an experience that promises to be as unique and significant.
