Pilgrimage of the Major Interdiocesan Seminary of Catalonia in Rome

A Religious Experience in Rome

From April 30 to May 3, the trainers and seminarians of the Major Interdiocesan Seminary of Catalonia, accompanied by Archbishop Joan-Enric Vives, lived a unique religious experience in Rome.

Exploring Emblematic Places

During this pilgrimage, they had the opportunity to visit several emblematic places in the city. They participated in the prayer of the Community of Sant’Egidio in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, where they showed their respect and devotion. In addition, they visited the Tiber Island and the Basilica of the Apostle Saint Bartholomew, where they honored the memory of the martyrs of past centuries.

Featured Religious Meetings

In addition to the visits, they had the opportunity to participate in prominent religious meetings. They attended the general audience of the Holy Father Francis, where they received his words of encouragement and support in their vocational path. They also had the opportunity to pray at Sant Pau Extramurs and at the basilica of Santa Maria la Major, where they celebrated the Eucharist and showed their respect to Our Lady of Peace with the Virolai.

Enriching With Religious Knowledge

In addition to spiritual experiences, they had the opportunity to enrich themselves with religious knowledge. They visited the Catacombs of Priscilla, where they could admire the oldest painting of the Virgin Mary and receive the testimony of the Martyrs of the early days. In addition, they were received by the bishop undersecretary Mons. Aurelio García Macías at the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, where they learned about the value of the liturgy for the ministers of the Church.

Return to Catalonia With Indelible Memories

After this enriching experience, they returned to Catalonia with indelible memories. This pilgrimage has left a deep mark on each of the 20 seminarians who participated, strengthening their religious commitment and devotion.
