Barcelona Pride Festival: artists, colors and joy

The celebration of PRIDE! BCN 2024 in Barcelona is announced as a vibrant show of diversity and colors. On July 20, the city will be filled with music and activities with more than 40 artists performing during these days. Special guests include Jessie J, Tokischa, Belén Aguilera, Nebulossa, The Tyets, Ruth Lorenzo and Villano Antillano.

A demonstration for diversity

As part of the celebration, the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes will host the traditional annual event with the slogan ‘Education in sexo-affective diversity: pending subject’. This march will be a space to claim and celebrate sexual and affective diversity.

A party with free entry

The event will be completely free and will run until July 21st, offering a festive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. It is a unique opportunity to experience diversity and inclusion in a celebratory environment.

Ricky Martin in concert: the Palau Sant Jordi show

Palau Sant Jordi will become the musical epicenter with Ricky Martin’s concert on July 20. As part of his ‘Ricky Martin Live 2024’ tour, the renowned Latin artist will deliver an energetic performance with hits such as ‘Livin’ la vida loca’ and ‘Tu Recuerdo’. Tickets are available from 55 euros.

Open-air cinema at Sala Montjuïc

On July 19, film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy ‘The Shining’. This horror classic directed by Stanley Kubrick will be screened at Sala Montjuïc. However, tickets for this presentation quickly sold out, proving the timelessness of this masterpiece based on Stephen King’s novel.

Mago Igor beautifies the Raval

On July 21, the Raval neighborhood will be transformed into a magical space thanks to the performance of Mago Igor. His show ‘Nomadik’ promises to thrill the audience with tricks inspired by cultures around the world. This family event will last 90 minutes, with tickets starting at 9.50 euros.

The Mapfre Foundation presents Louis Stettner

For photography lovers, the Mapfre Foundation offers an exhibition dedicated to the renowned photographer Louis Stettner. With more than 190 images, including previously unseen pieces, the exhibition provides an introspective look at life in Paris and New York, with Stettner capturing moments of urban life with a unique sensibility.

Effects on public transport during Pride

The Pride demonstration will affect 23 bus lines of Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) on Saturday afternoon. To avoid inconvenience, TMB recommends that users use the Metro between 5 and 8:30 p.m.

Commuting Alternatives

Bus lines affected include D50, H12, H14, H16, V13, V15, V17, V19, and others. The closest Metro stations to reach the demonstration are Universitat (L1, L2), Catalunya (L1, L3), Passeig de Gràcia (L2, L3, L4), Urquinaona (L1, L4) and Arc de Triomf (L1) . It is also recommended to plan in advance the journeys through the works on the L2 and L5 lines.
