Puigcerdà transforms its lake into a sports arena

A new initiative for the Feast of Our Lady of August

The municipality of Puigcerdà has decided to promote its iconic lake with a race that will take place next August 15. This activity, promoted by the City Council and the Cerdanya Sports Council, seeks to celebrate the festival with a proposal that combines sport and family fun.

Transformation of the Dream Runners race

The new race, which replaces the popular Dream Runners, has been designed to offer a more inclusive and engaging experience for all audiences. The circuits, which will revolve around the lake, will allow both participants and spectators to enjoy a complete view of the competitions, with a dynamic atmosphere that encourages exchange between runners.

A route adapted for all ages

With a total of seven categories that adapt to the runners’ ages, the race offers distances ranging from 90 meters to 5.2 kilometers. The first participants will start competing at 9:45 in the morning, starting a day full of emotions.

The lake as protagonist

According to Puigcerdà’s sports councillor, Mar Quera, the lake will become a real track for athletics and cross country. Participants will have to overcome various obstacles, which will add a fun and competitive component to the event.

A support that drives activity

In addition, the race has the support of the Ametller Origen chain, which reinforces its involvement with the event, contributing to its promotion and organization.

An expected success

The previous year, the Dream Runners day attracted more than 1,600 participants, a success that the organizers hope to repeat and even surpass with this new proposal.

A future full of sporting opportunities

With this new activity, Puigcerdà not only celebrates a festival, but also reinforces its commitment to sport and the community, turning the lake into a meeting place and fun for all.
