Need to strengthen the staff
After the setback of signing Leny Yoro for Manchester United, Real Madrid are urgently looking to strengthen their defense for next season under Carlo Ancelotti.
The departure of Nacho creates a huge void in the defensive line of the club, and the Italian coach has drawn up a list of 7 candidates for the sports director to fill this position.
Candidates under consideration
Riccardo Calafiori, Giorgio Scalvini and Marc Guéhi are Carletto’s early favorites to fill the defensive vacancy in his team.
However, due to the high financial demands, other options have been considered such as Antonio Silva, Gonçalo Inácio, Diogo Leite or the player of the house, Mario Gila.
Riccardo Calafiori, principal candidate
Riccardo Calafiori has come to the fore at the Euros after putting in an outstanding performance for the Italian national team, although his €30m price tag poses a major decision for the sports management.
Other options such as Antonio Silva and Gonçalo Inácio ask for financial amounts of 60 and 45 million respectively, placing them outside the usual parameters of Real Madrid signings.
More affordable options
Given the high financial demands, more accessible options such as Diogo Leite and Mario Gila are considered, with prices of 18 and 6.5 million euros respectively.
Given the stalled negotiations for Yoro, it is expected that Real Madrid will opt for a cheaper option to fill the void left by Nacho.
