A New Measure to Prioritize Residents
At the beginning of July, a new ordinance regulating parking in the historic center of Bocairent was launched. This measure, promoted by the Association Veinal del Barri Medieval and Alcoi City Council, aims to facilitate parking for the residents of this part of the municipality, giving them priority in the use of car parks.
Parking Zones and Time Regulation
The new ordinance establishes two parking zones for authorized vehicles. The red zone is intended for the parking of one vehicle per cadastral owner of properties in the Medieval Quarter, while the orange zone allows the parking of other vehicles linked to a cadastral owner of the historic core. In addition, loading and unloading points have been enabled, which will operate between 9am and 10pm, turning into red zone car parks during the night.
Reactions and Collaboration
Xavi Pascual, president of the neighborhood association, has highlighted the need for this regulation, worked on jointly with the Local Police and the City Council, to improve the living conditions of the neighborhood. Also, Ximo Carbonell, from the council, has valued the collaboration with the neighborhood organization to achieve this measure, which seeks to respond to the day-to-day needs of the residents of the historic core.
