Spring Activities: A Journey to Nature
The city of Reus, with its ambitious project Renaturaus, is approaching spring with a series of activities designed to promote biodiversity and sustainability. These initiatives will last until June 21, coinciding with International Biological Diversity Day, which is commemorated on May 22.
Collaboration and institutional support
The Renaurus project is possible thanks to the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the demographic reto, within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union through Nextgeneration.
Outings and workshops: connection with the environment
Natural walks
The program includes guided walks in various natural areas of the city, such as the Route of the Plaza de la Llibertat in the Parc de Sant Jordi, where participants will be able to explore local vegetation and understand the transformations of the spring landscape.
Practical workshops
The workshops, such as the creation of flowered balconies with aromatic and medicinal plants, offer an opportunity for citizens to learn about sustainable cultivation and the importance of urban biodiversity.
Falciots Festival: Biodiversity Celebration
The Falciots Festival, scheduled for May 24, is a prominent event that includes bird observation activities and workshops on the construction of nest boxes. This celebration, organized in collaboration with the CEN Association, seeks to raise awareness of the importance of local species.
A sustainable future
With a total budget of more than 4 million euros, the Renaurus initiative not only seeks to restore local biodiversity, but also to promote a deeper connection between citizens and their natural environment. These activities are not only a step towards sustainability, but also an invitation to enjoy and respect the nature that surrounds us.
