Reus celebrates cultural diversity on Museum Night

An unforgettable night in Reus

Last Saturday, May 18, the city of Reus experienced an exceptional night with the celebration of Museum Night, an event designed jointly by the Reus Museums and the Reus Promotion Agency. This edition, with the motto ‘The future of museums in communities in constant change’, attracted a large number of visitors with a varied and attractive program.

Assistance and outstanding activities

The data speaks for themselves: the Reus Museum registered 978 attendees, while the activities organized by the agency had 1,098 participants, highlighting the community’s interest in this cultural initiative.

Guided tours and innovative activities

On May 17, several spaces such as the Patacada anti -aircraft shelter and the Salvador Vilaseca Museum opened their doors for free, offering guided tours that captivated the attendees. The Mas Iglesias Image Center was the scene of a theatrical performance that explored the memory of the Civil War, combining art and history in an emotional way.

Educational and inclusive collaboration

The students of the Maria Rosa Molas School surprised the visitors, becoming guides in the Archeology Hall of the Salvador Vilaseca Museum, showing their creativity and knowledge about classical culture. In addition, the Reus Conservatory of Music offered recitals that enriched the cultural experience of the night.

Activities for everyone

The Reus Promotion Agency presented a series of inclusive activities, such as the show ‘Architectures Vives’, which was accessible to people with visual impairment through audio description. Other proposals, such as a modernist tile painting workshop, attracted participants of all ages.

With 100% occupation in activities, most attendees were from Reus, followed by a good number of visitors from other regions. This positive response reflects the growing interest in local culture and history, as well as the importance of creating meeting and learning spaces for the whole community.
