Reus celebrates museum night with inclusive activities

A magical night of art and culture

On May 18, the city of Reus illuminated with a new edition of the Night of the Museums, an event organized in collaboration between the Museums of Reus and the Reus Promotion agency. This year, the event led as motto ‘The future of museums in communities instead constant’, which reflects the intention of adapting to a dynamic cultural environment.

A positive participation balance

The Department of Culture and Linguistic Policy, together with the promotion of the city, were satisfied with the result of the day, highlighting that many of the activities reached a complete capacity. In total, the Reus Museum received 978 visitors, while the activities organized by the Reus Promotion agency attracted 1,098 people, who could enjoy a wide range of proposals.

Outstanding activities in the Reus Museum

The Reus Museum opened its doors for free on May 17, offering guided visits to several spaces, including the Patacada anti -aircraft shelter and the Salvador Vilaseca Museum, which offered a special look at its collection. In addition, attendees were able to explore the center of the most churches image, where a Stenopeic photography workshop was held.

Theater and music to close the night

The theatrical representation ‘Forgotten Memories’, presented by the Theatrizat Company, made reflecting on the civil war and the role of women in that context. The evening culminated with a concert by the artist Fania, who merged indie and rock music, delighting visitors who could also explore exhibitions such as ‘marginal reflections’ by Guillem Torné.

Inclusion as a priority

The Reus Promotion agency highlighted the variety of inclusive activities that were carried out. Among them, the spectacle ‘Living Architectures’ by choreographer Diego Sinniger, who was presented with audio -description for people with visual disabilities. This accessible approach allowed all attendees to fully enjoy the performance.

Workshops and visits for all

Modernist painting workshops were also a success, attracting participants of all ages, including an eleven group. In addition, the visit ‘we discovered Antonio. From the person to the genius’ it was performed in the language of Catalan signs, promoting inclusion and accessibility in art.

Commitment to the community

The event reaffirmed the agency’s commitment for the dissemination of heritage and the creation of accessible spaces for all. With activities designed to be enjoyed intergenerationally, Museum night became a meeting point for the community, offering guided tours, workshops and discovery games.

Future results and projections

With an occupation close to 100% in all activities, the event mainly attracted visitors to Reus, with a remarkable interest of people from other provinces. The Reus Promotion agency expressed its satisfaction with the public’s response, which suggests a promising future for cultural initiatives of this type in the city.
