Beginning of the Informative Campaign
This May 20, the City Council of Reus has given the departure pistol to a series of information sessions aimed at citizens, in order to detail the changes that the establishment of the low emissions zone (ZBE) entails. This effort is part of a broader campaign, which includes the creation of a web portal dedicated to mobility, the distribution of an informative triptych and an intense advertising campaign in media and public spaces.
Sessions open to citizens
The first meeting was focused on the neighborhood movement and was held in the auditorium of the old building. From this Wednesday, May 21, the doors will open to all citizens, with a session calendar that includes multiple civic centers. The dates are as follows:

Commitment to citizen participation
Dolors Vázquez, Councilor for Citizen Security and Coexistence, emphasized the importance of citizen participation in this process: “We have heard the community from the beginning. The regulations that regulate the ZBE incorporate the suggestions received in our participation actions. These informative sessions aim sanctions. “
Key dates for regulation
The regulation of access for more polluting vehicles will begin on December 1, 2025, at which time the penalties will also be initiated. However, until December 30, 2027, these regulations will only affect vehicles without environmental label of people not resident in Reus or do not pay the vehicle tax in the city. As of December 31, 2027, restrictions on resident vehicles and those with B label will be expanded.
Flexibility in implementation
Throughout all phases of the ZBE, measures such as exemptions, moratoriums and specific authorizations will be implemented to ensure a more fluid transition towards more sustainable mobility.
