The City of Lleida has launched a promising initiative that seeks to transform the way professional skills are recognized. Through a day entitled ‘Accreditation of Professional Competencies: an opportunity for people and companies’, held at the School of Labor, new perspectives for the development of employment have been raised.

Promoting dialogue between companies and professionals

This event, promoted by the Municipal Council of Vocational Training and Employment, in collaboration with Actic and Coell, has brought together various actors in the workplace. The Youth, Education and Employment, Xavi Blanco councilor inaugurated the day with representatives of the Lleida and Coell Association, marking the beginning of an essential dialogue on the accreditation of competences.

Clear objectives and ambitious goals

The day has the fundamental purpose of sensitizing companies and professionals about competency accreditation processes, both individual and collective. This effort is registered within the Employment Opportunities Commission and Trends in the labor market, which advocates continuous training and recognition of the valuable labor baggage of workers.

Contributions of experts and good practices

During the session, there was the participation of experts from the Public Professional Training and Qualification Agency of Catalonia (FPCAT), who presented the benefits and procedure for the accreditation of competences. This section of the event, moderated by technicians from the Municipal Employment Institute, allowed several companies to share their positive experiences in this area.

A new procedure for mass accreditation

The president of FPCAT, Jose Luis Duran, presented an innovative massive accreditation procedure specifically for companies and associations. This approach allows organizations to request the formal recognition of the competences acquired by their workers, thus facilitating their professional development.

Among the organizations that have implemented this new system are the Fitness Training School, the European Sports and Health Institute and Agbar (Aguas de Barcelona), who have shared their achievements and learning in the accreditation of competencies of their employees.
