Rosaleda’s reform is extended until 2025

New deadline for completion of works

The City Council of Alcoy has decided to extend the deadline for the completion of the reform of the Rosaleda, setting the new date on June 30, 2025. This decision has been made after examining the technical justifications presented by the construction company, which have been approved by the municipal engineer.

Motivations behind the extension

This third extension is part of a project that has a budget of 4,372,809 euros. The main purpose of this action is to comply with the ruling of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, which declared the previous work promoted by the Government of the Popular Party.

Factors that have influenced the delay

According to the reports prepared by the municipal engineer, the causes of the extension are diverse. Among them, the lack of subcontractors and suppliers due to the consequences of the Dana, as well as the leaks caused by the rains have complicated the progress of the works, forcing a reprogramming of them.

Commitment to the community

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Vanessa Moltó, said that technical reports justify extension and acknowledged that this situation could generate disadvantages to the neighbors. However, he has reiterated that the City Council’s priority is to ensure that the reform was carried out technically correctly, ensuring that the Rosaleda complies with the requirements issued by the sentence and recover the green area eliminated by the previous project.

Key aspects of the reform

This reform seeks to create a garden with a layer of 80 cm of vegetable and wooded earth, as the sentence stipulates. This structural overload has required interventions in the foundation and structure of the enclosure, as well as in the urbanization of the square to make it more accessible and attractive to the citizens.
