Sa Pobla boosts its modernization with 3.2 million euros

A new impulse for urban renewal

Sa Pobla City Council has announced the receipt of 3.2 million euros from the European Union’s Next Generation funds. This investment will go to five innovative projects, designed to improve the lives of citizens and modernize local infrastructure between 2025 and 2026.

Featured projects for the community

The initiatives include several actions that will significantly transform the urban infrastructure. The most relevant projects are detailed below:

1. Creation of a civic center on Carrer Comerç

With an investment of 1,085,000 euros, this project seeks to revitalize the urban core, turning Carrer Comerç into a space for coexistence. It is hoped that the new configuration will facilitate the circulation of pedestrians and stimulate local trade, while encouraging social interaction between Can Cirera Prim Park and Plaça del Mercat.

2. Improvement of the Blood Donors walk

With a budget of 652,745 euros, this project aims to modernize the promenade, improving accessibility and adding new infrastructure. The aim is to facilitate the use of this space for all citizens, creating a connection between the park, the avenue and the new civic axis.

3. Transformation of the old Civil Guard building

The demolition of this building, with a budget of 357,445 euros, will free up space for a new car park and an urban park. This will contribute to increasing green areas and improving access to the town centre.

4. Preservation of the Can Corró building

The acquisition of the old headquarters of Sa Nostra, valued at 664,500 euros, seeks to preserve local heritage. The building will be used for community purposes, including spaces for cultural activities and municipal offices.

5. Adaptation of Simó Andreu and Cemetery squares

With an investment of 496,660 euros, these squares will be renovated, including the installation of infrastructures that encourage physical activity and improve the quality of life of the residents.

Commitment to transparency and efficiency

Joan Pérez, Councilor for Finance and Public Infrastructure, has highlighted the importance of these investments for the transformation of Sa Pobla. In addition, mayor Biel Ferragut has assured that the management of the projects will be carried out with total transparency, guaranteeing that the benefits reach all citizens.

A vision towards the future

With these projects, Sa Pobla not only seeks to improve its infrastructure, but also to create a more cohesive and sustainable environment for all its inhabitants, ensuring a positive legacy for future generations.
