Singer-songwriter Sílvia Pérez Cruz wins three awards
Singer-songwriter Sílvia Pérez Cruz has won three awards at the first edition of the National Music Awards, organized by the Academy of Music of Spain. In particular, he has won the award for best singer-songwriter album for Toda la vida, un día; the award for the best album design for the same work, and the award for the best song in Catalan, Valencian or Aranese for the theme He does not want the world to end, although Pérez Cruz was nominated in six categories.
The singer Aitana, who was up for five distinctions, has finally obtained two: the award for best urban song for Miamor—equal with Columbia, by Quevedo—and the award for best electronic music song for Los Angeles. The award for best recording engineering by album or song went to Alizzz.

Among the Catalan representatives at the awards are also the award for best traditional pop album, which went to Desbarajuste Piramidal, by El Último de la Fila, and the award for best BSO album, Series or Publicity, which went to La Mesías , by Raul Refree. The Murcia rock group Arde Bogotá has emerged as the most awarded line-up of the night with six statuettes out of the nine they were eligible for.
The Academy of Music of Spain, chaired by Luis Cobos, had selected 200 finalists from the more than 2,600 nominations submitted, and the 800 members of the institution voted from March 25 to April 15 for the winners. The awards have a total of 48 categories, 43 of which are chosen by vote and five at the proposal of the governing bodies of the Academy.
Sílvia Pérez Cruz will inaugurate the Greek Festival
This year, Sílvia Pérez Cruz will be in charge of opening the 2024 Greek Festival with three nights of music, on June 26, 27 and 28. Other representatives of the Barcelona and Catalan scene, strongly linked to the festivals of recent years such as La Veronal, La Brutal, Dagoll Dagom or Baró d’Evel, will pass through the Teatre Grec space, which will have the exclusivity of the space this year most emblematic of the entire contest. The festival will kick off an extensive summer program made up of eighty shows and more than fifty activities, and will be held from June 26 to August 4, conceived as a celebration of local talent, as well as a tribute to world masters of the performing arts. As for the international names, Angélica Liddell, Lola Arias, Christiane Jatahy, Nat Randall or Anna Brackon stand out, in an edition with a clear female accent. In fact, in 53% of the shows there are women in the role of author or director. As usual, the festival will unfold throughout the city thanks to co-productions with different venues. Tirant lo Blanc directed by Joan Arqué; All birds, by Wadji Mouawad, directed by Oriol Broggi; or Catalan authored texts such as Malamort, by Daniela Feixas; or Les Mans, by Llàtzer García, are some of the proposals.
