Sitges Shines with its Christmas Magic: Traditions and Novelties

The Beginning of a Charming Christmas

The town of Sitges has kicked off its Christmas campaign for 2024-2025 with a spectacular lighting ceremony and the presentation of its Christmas tree, located in Cap de la Vila. With the slogan ‘Sitges, where every detail is Christmas’, the City Council has designed a wide range of activities that will extend from December to early January, with the aim of revitalizing local traditions and stimulating sustainable commerce.

Activities for All Tastes

The program includes a rich variety of events, ranging from traditional activities to proposals for the little ones. Highlights include carol concerts, theatre, storytelling, nativity scenes and the popular Parade of Kings. The Culture Council has joined forces with various local entities to ensure that the festivities are a resounding success, with an offer that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Parties for the Youngest

The Department of Childhood and Youth, in collaboration with the Three Kings Commission and the Carnival groups Enigma and Paperets, has organized a fun-filled morning with the activity ‘Let’s fuck Uncle’. Children will be able to enjoy giant games, creative workshops, storytelling, makeup and a delicious hot chocolate. In addition, an escape room inspired by Harry Potter is being prepared and a new edition of the Christmas Park at the Pins Vens Pavilion, which promises to be one of the most anticipated moments of the holidays.

Culture and Commerce at the Festival

To support local businesses, on December 12 and 19, Christmas-themed storytelling sessions will be held from 7 p.m. at Cap de la Vila. At the same time, a musical parade, organized by Apocadixie Cotton Pickers, will tour the streets of the shopping center, turning the area into a space full of music and a festive atmosphere.

Traditional Celebrations

The Three Kings Commission, with the collaboration of the Department of Traditions and Festivities, has prepared several activities around Tió on December 15, including the visit of the royal office Aisha and the long-awaited arrival of the Three Kings in Sitges.

Festive Lighting and Decoration

The Christmas decorations in Sitges are highlighted by the installation of 325 figures illuminated with LED technology, which will be distributed throughout various parts of the town. With special lighting at Cap de la Vila, on the façade of the Town Hall and in other emblematic places, the Christmas atmosphere is completed with themed vinyls and Christmas trees that will adorn the entrances to the shopping area. Christmas music will also play in the streets, creating a unique atmosphere between December 22 and January 7.

Christmas Tree Collection

After the holidays, the Image and Public Roads Department will organize the collection of natural Christmas trees between January 7 and 31. Collection points include Can Bóta Park, Eduard Maristany Square and other strategic areas of the town.
