The students with the best grades
Although almost all students who had registered for this year’s University Entrance Examinations (PAUs) have passed, only a few have achieved excellence. In this call, the two highest grades were obtained by Pau Palomar, a student from Castellnou de Bages who studies at the Institut d’Auro, and Eric Mateu, a student from Sant Cugat del Vallès who studies at the Institut Forat del Vent . Both have achieved a 9.90 in the general phase of the tests. Subsequently, the next best grade was a 9.80, obtained by students from different institutes and schools in Catalonia.
The aspirations of the best students
The two students with the best grades have similar future aspirations. Both want to dedicate themselves to research in different fields. Pau Palomar wants to be a researcher and dedicate himself to research in general, while Eric Mateu wants to do research in astrophysics or astrobiology to analyze the possibility of the existence of life outside the Earth. The two will coincide in the same race next year.
Recognition to the best students
As every year, the president of the Generalitat will award a distinction to students who have obtained a qualification higher than 9 in the general phase of the university entrance exams. This year, 914 students will receive this recognition.
