An emblematic event for the community
Next Sunday, April 6, the city of Tarragona will be mobilized again by the March Against Cancer, an initiative promoted by the Liberadrenaline Hiking Club in collaboration with the Tarragona City Council and Tarragona Esports. This solidarity march, which reaches its ninth edition, has become a fundamental pillar in the calendar of sports and social events in the area.
Time and logistics of the march
With a scheduled departure at 9:30 am from the Francolí Park, hundreds of people are expected to join this cause to support those who fight the disease. In addition, this year a zero bib has been introduced for those who wish to contribute to the project without physically participating.
Institutional and community support
The presentation of the march took place on Monday, where the Minister of Sports, Mario Soler, emphasized Tarragona’s commitment to sport and solidarity. “This event not only represents a sporting activity, but also an act of unconditional support for families affected by cancer,” he said.
Opinions of the organizers
Fede Adán, President of the Cancer Association in Tarragona, emphasized the importance of these activities to maintain the free services that they offer to patients. Joan Carles Gil, President of the Liberadrenaline Hiking Club, added that there will be two routes in order to include as many participants as possible.
Registration and practical details
The registration cost to participate is 15 euros, and the registrations will remain open until the same day of the march. Those interested can register through the following link: https://www.rockhesport.com/es/evento/9a-marxa-contra-el-cancer-de-tarragona, or do it in person at the Francolí Park between 8:15 and 9:15 am.
Collection of bibs and gifts
The numbers can be collected at the Local Hiking Club premises on April 4 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 p.m., and on April 5 from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 20:00. They can also be obtained on the same day of the march, between 8:30 and 9:30. All participants will receive a bag with the number and a special gift: a commemorative buff designed exclusively for this edition.
A collective effort
The march is possible thanks to the support of various organizations, such as Fundalis and Elix Polymers, as well as the collaboration of Civil Protection and a large group of liberation volunteers and the Cancer Association. This collective effort reflects the strength and solidarity of the Tarragona community.
