The Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA) has launched a new audiovisual platform called 3Cat, which has been a success since its launch. In just 6 months, it has exceeded 100 million views, reaching a total of 103,595,810 views. This platform has stood out for its wide variety of content and for improving accessibility in productions from previous seasons.

Among the most consumed content on 3Cat are entertainment bets, such as the adventure reality show ‘La travessa’, presented by Laura Escanes, which has accumulated more than 1 and a half million views since its premiere. Other notable content is Carles Porta’s new series, ‘Tor’, whose first chapter became the best premiere of the first six months, with almost 500,000 views during its first week.

Variety of content

3Cat offers a wide variety of content aimed at different audiences. Among them are musical programs such as ‘Euforia’ and ‘Jo mai, mai’, hits aimed at family audiences such as the series ‘Això no és Suècia’ and the culinary competition ‘Joc de cartes’. In addition, the platform also has a catalog of historical series such as ‘Com si fos ahir’, ‘Plats Bruts’, ‘Crims’, ‘El cor de la ciutat’, ‘La Riera’ and ‘Merlí’, as well as content from niche like ‘Épic nails’, ‘Love cost’ and documentary series like ‘Núñez’ and ‘Punt de no retorn’.

Record monthly consumption

3Cat has become one of the main references for audiovisual content in Catalan, with more than 3.5 million hours consumed monthly on the platform. This is equivalent to an average of 120,000 hours per day. In addition, the children’s channel SX3 has experienced a growth of 21% since the launch of 3Cat, with more than 384,000 devices accessing the content monthly.

The platform also offers current content and audio-entertainment live and on demand, including programs such as ‘El matí de Catalunya Ràdio’, ‘El búnquer’ and ‘Crims’. 65% of consumption at 3Cat is on demand and not live.

Growth of the SX3

With the launch of 3Cat, the children’s channel SX3 has experienced a growth of 23%. Video views on SX3 have increased by 18%, reaching 100,000 daily views. This demonstrates the positive impact that the platform has had on the children’s channel’s audience.
