Preparations and waiting times
The royal family has organized their itinerary for the traditional stay in Marivent, on the island of Mallorca. Although some details have yet to be defined, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Elionor and Infanta Sofía already know their daily responsibilities on the island. While waiting to fulfill these commitments, the king and his family are enjoying a few days of rest separately, away from the public eye, before resuming their official duties in Mallorca.
The first solo acts
King Felipe VI will be in charge of inaugurating the engagements in Mallorca. His arrival in Palma is scheduled for July 23, marking the start of his holidays on the island. The following day, the monarch has scheduled an audience with the local authorities at the Almudaina Palace.
Meeting in Paris and return to Mallorca
On July 26, Felipe VI will attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. Here, he will meet Queen Letizia again after a few days apart. According to information, both will be received the day before by French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom they will have dinner along with other authorities. On July 27, they will return to Palma de Mallorca, where they will be reunited with their daughters, Elionor and Sofía. That day, Felipe VI is expected to go sailing, a common activity on his vacation, while the queen will attend the closing gala of the Atlàntida film festival, where she will present the Masters of Cinema award to Michael Douglas.
Family commitments
The next appointment on the royal agenda will be on July 29 in the afternoon. The kings, together with Queen Sofia, will receive a representation of Balearic society at the Marivent Palace. The queen emeritus will also participate in the official photos. Among these events, there will be no shortage of photo sessions in some iconic location. Last summer, for example, they were held in the Alfàbia gardens, an estate that dates back to the Islamic era and was declared a national artistic monument in 1954.
Separate days and rest
Meanwhile, members of the royal family have attracted attention for their activities leading up to official engagements. Felipe VI left Zarzuela last Friday, leaving the palace at dawn in company. He is enjoying a mini-vacation with friends until his arrival in Mallorca on July 23rd. Queen Letizia, for her part, is also enjoying a few days of rest with her close circle, extending her period until July 25, when she is expected to be in Paris. Elionor and Sofía have also taken time with their friends on individual getaways.
Privacy and discretion
The exact locations of their rest destinations have not been revealed. The Royal Family has kept these details secret for years to protect the family’s privacy and avoid unnecessary media exposure, whether when they travel individually or together.
