News on the Alcoi Campus

The Alcoi Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia faces the next academic year with several new features. The director of the campus, Pau Bernabéu, has presented a report detailing the progress and needs that have been achieved in recent years.

Expansion of the educational offer

One of the main novelties is the expansion of the educational offer. In the next year, the Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering and Industrial Mathematics will be taught in English. In addition, it is planned to launch the Degree in Textile Technology and Design Engineering the following year (25/26). Work is also underway on the processing of the Degree in Artificial Intelligence and the Degree in Cosmetic and Nutritional Product Technology.

Increase in research

The director, Pau Bernabéu, has highlighted the increase in research on campus. During the year 2023, 4.6 million euros have been generated in research and service projects, a figure that has doubled compared to previous years. This high investment demonstrates the great research potential of the Alcoa university community and justifies the creation of the science park of the Central Regions (Ciutat Politècnica de la Innovación).

Recognition of entrepreneurship

The area’s business community has congratulated the management team of the campus for the increase in research and collaboration between the productive sectors and the university. They highlighted the growth experienced in the last 4 years and called for more infrastructure and investments to face future challenges.

Generalitat investment

The Generalitat has announced an investment of 750,000 euros in the Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI) until 2025. This investment aims to promote the transfer of knowledge between the university, companies and technology centers in the area. The commitment to the ICC is key to the economic and social development of Alcoi and the central counties.

Meeting of the Consultative Council

The Consultative Council of the Alcoi Campus has been chaired by the mayor of the city, Toni Francés, the Autonomous Secretary of the University of the Generalitat, Esther Gómez, and other representatives. During the meeting, the research efficiency of the campus was highlighted and the importance of knowledge transfer and collaboration between the different agents was highlighted.

Transformation of knowledge into value

The vice-chancellor of Innovation and Transfer, Salvador Coll, has stressed the importance of transforming knowledge into value for the economic and social fabric of the area. Thanks to the Polytechnic City of Innovation, research groups work on projects that respond to the real challenges of society.

In summary, the Alcoi Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia is still undergoing significant changes next year. The expansion of the educational offer, the increase in research and collaboration with business are some of the highlights. In addition, the Generalitat’s investment in the Polytechnic City of Innovation reaffirms its commitment to the development of the area.
