The appointment of Puigdemont as president of Junts by unanimity

A logical and important decision

Xavier Trias, former mayor of Barcelona and leader of Junts in the City Council, has expressed his opinion on the possibility that the former president of the Generalitat and candidate of Junts+ in the Catalan elections, Carles Puigdemont, will leave politics if he is not elected as to president of the Generalitat. Trias has stated that he considers this risky but crucial decision that Puigdemont took to lead the candidacy for the 12M totally reasonable. In addition, he has defended the idea that if he does not exercise the presidency, he will probably become the president of the party.

The need for strong leadership

Trias has insisted on the importance of Puigdemont leading Junts, reaffirming his previous statement to Europa Press. He has argued that the party requires strong leadership to accommodate a wide range of approaches, and believes that Puigdemont is best qualified to spearhead that leadership.

Undisputed leadership

Trias emphasized the importance of having strong leaders in life, stating that it is imperative that leaders act as such. He has expressed his hope that in the next congress they will all unanimously appoint Carles Puigdemont as president, since he considers him to be the undisputed leader of the party.
