The Blood Energy Revolution: 1 million euros in grants

An impulsion Fund Sense preceding

The Alcoy Blood district has been the scene of a remarkable change thanks to an injection of almost one million euros coming from the Next Generation funds. This amount not only represents financial support, but also marks a precedent as the first aid for energy rehabilitation throughout the Valencian Community.

The rehabilitation process: an example to follow

On Tuesday, March 11, the neighbors at Cova Santa Street held the reception of these aid, emphasizing that they have been pioneers in the application and completion of the rehabilitation works. In total, the project has been endowed with 3.35 million euros, distributed in various files, and this recent contribution is only the first phase of a wider plan.

Works underway and future projects

With 80% of the works already executed, the neighbors are preparing for the completion of a new phase that will add more than 715,000 euros to the investment. The works have included the replacement of natural stone plates with more secure fixation systems, as well as the installation of thermal insulation to improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

Environmental and economic benefits

The improvements made have allowed a reduction in non -renewable energy consumption by 60%, with a subsidy that covers 80% of the eligible expenses. This transformation not only contributes to environmental sustainability, but also provides economic relief to families who, so far, had to assume the total cost of work.

The challenge of funding

Despite the advantages, the neighbors had to resort to bank loans to cover all the initial expenses. Financial pressure is significant, as one of the buildings is about to deal with the end of the loan period in just two months, which generates an added concern between the residents.

Looking to the future

As the works progress, the Blood district becomes an example of how energy rehabilitation can transform communities. Neighbors expect these initiatives not only to improve their quality of life, but also serve as a model for other neighborhoods in the region.
