The budget pact and its non-materialisation
On February 27, Pere Aragonès and Salvador Illa agreed on the budgets of the Generalitat de Catalunya, but this agreement did not materialize as no other group in the Parliament of Catalonia supported them. One of the reasons for this lack of support was the Hard Rock project, a casino macro project in Tarragona.
Renewal of the commitment to the Hard Rock
According to La Directa, the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya renewed its commitment to the Hard Rock just before certifying the agreement with the PSC. This renewal of the commitment was signed by the Secretary of the Government, Xavier Bernadí, and was not made public during the press conference of the spokesperson of the Government, Patrícia Plaja.
Paper of the Incasòl
The commitment renewal document annuls the Government Agreement of December 15, 2020, which ordered Incasòl to acquire the land where the hotel and gaming macrocomplex is to be located for 120 million euros from Criteria Caixa and then sell these lands to BCN IR 3 SAU, the company promoting the Hard Rock. In addition, it maintains the commission to the Incasòl to formalize the private and public agreements to acquire and alienate the land, without setting a price for the plot or any deadline for carrying out this real estate operation.
