The castellers groups shine at the Fira de Sant Isidre de Bellvei

A key event for the casteller calendar

This weekend, Bellvei was the scene of a memorable day for castles lovers. The Day of the Fira de Sant Isidre has become a reference point in the Baix Penedès, attracting three prominent groups: the children of Vendrell, the Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona and the Sant Pere and Sant Pau castellera group.

Exciting return of the children of El Vendrell

With a renewed energy, the children of El Vendrell returned to Bellvei, a square that they consider to be fundamental in their route. After two decades of absence, last year’s performance had marked a moment of significant return for the gang.

Solid and ambitious performance

The gang began its performance with an impressive 3D7, demonstrating its stability capacity. In the second round, they achieved their third 4d8 of the season, a success that brings them closer to their goal of consolidating among the groups working with eight castles.

Challenges and learning

In the third round, despite a dismantled attempt at Torre de 7, the children of El Vendrell completed a 7d7, which allowed the participation of castellers in various positions. Although they could not unload the tower, they expressed their commitment to this structure, with the intention of working at the premises to achieve the goal of unloading it soon.

Notable actions of the other gangs

The Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona shone with a remarkable performance, in which they unloaded a 3d8, a tower of 7, a 4d8, and premiered a pillar of 6. On the other hand, the Sant Pere and Sant Pau castellera gang presented a well -balanced performance, highlighting the 3d8, accompanied by a 5d7 and a 4d7 with a needle.

Looking to the future

The Children of El Vendrell have a view to the next event, which will take place this Sunday on the birthday day of the Castellers de la Vila de Gràcia. This meeting, which is part of its usual calendar, promises to be a great show, with the participation of the hosts and other prominent groups such as the Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona and the Moixiganguers de Igualada.
